Note:

Multitrack breakdown above is what I used. There is a second drum channel available on 'Ramble On' which does not quite gel with the main drumchannel (phase issues). There are also some vocal stems on the files but these are processed dubs of other channels. These multitracks were liberated by the Japanese bootleggers from "Empress Valley Supreme Disc" label in 2012. They appear to be exact copies of the 8-track tapes that Page carried to the A&R Studios in August 1969 to mix the album (rather than those typical 'Rockband' multis which have already been pre-mixed and cleaned up). If you wanna try your hand at mixing these yourself, just google "Led Zeppelin Studio Magik 18cd". Be warned the tracks are not in sync, which will have to be done by hand/ear.

I personally do not like modern-day remixes that constantly remind you that you are *not* listening to the original that has been imprinted on your brain for ages. So, I have attempted to stay as close to the feel of the original mix as I could. I know this album inside-out and I pushed myself hard to correct every little deviation I felt bothersome (this does not include Kramer's wild panning though). A lot of stuff had to be re-created by means of editing and by adding sound effects, because it simply did not appear like that on the tracks. I have always loved the original mix for its feel and energy. It may not be perfect by modern standards but it rocks and can never be fully replicated. However, I didn't wanna pass up the challenge to take a shot at it. And I have to say, I'm quite pleased with how this turned out, so here it is.

I have used the following digital studio gear and monitoring in the making of this:
- Cubase
- Universal Audio UAD-2 Satellite Quad-Core (incl. various extra plugins I purchased over the years)
- PMC IB2s & iLoud Micro monitors
- Adobe Audition
